Appearance
Triantha plants have narrow, grass-like leaves that grow from the base of the stem. The flowers are small, white, and star-shaped with six petals. The inflorescence is a raceme, a cluster of flowers along a single stem. The plants bloom in late spring and early summer.
Care Guide
Triantha plants prefer moist, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. They require full sun to partial shade and can tolerate hardiness zones 4 to 9. Water regularly, especially during hot and dry periods, and avoid overwatering. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Mulch around the base of the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Common Pests & Diseases
Triantha plants are generally free of pests and diseases. However, they may be susceptible to rust, a fungal disease that causes orange or brown spots on the leaves. To prevent rust, avoid overhead watering and provide good air circulation. If rust does occur, remove infected leaves and treat with a fungicide.
Habitat
Triantha plants are native to North America and can be found in wetlands, meadows, and along stream banks. They prefer moist soils and can tolerate both sun and shade.
