Description Tiedemannia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Acanthaceae. It is native to tropical regions in Central and South America. The genus was named after Johann Tiedemann, a German anatomist and physiologist. There are only two known species in this genus: Tiedemannia filiformis and Tiedemannia paniculata.
