Description Peltophorum is a genus of flowering trees that belong to the legume family, Fabaceae. This tropical plant is native to Africa, Asia, and South America. There are around 20 species of Peltophorum, but the most commonly cultivated one is Peltophorum pterocarpum, also known as the copperpod or yellow-flamboyant.
