Description Paysonia is a small genus of flowering plants that belong to the family Onagraceae. It includes only two species, Paysonia grandiflora and Paysonia hirsuta. These plants are native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. The genus was named after the American botanist James Edward Payson.
