Description Geocaulon is a small genus of herbaceous perennial plants that belong to the Saxifragaceae family. The genus comprises of only two species – Geocaulon lividum and Geocaulon minus. These plants are native to the eastern United States, where they can be found growing in moist, shady habitats such as woodlands and rocky slopes.
