Description Corynocarpus is a genus of evergreen trees and shrubs native to New Zealand. There are only two known species of Corynocarpus: Corynocarpus laevigatus and Corynocarpus similis. Both species are commonly known as karaka, and they are culturally significant to the indigenous Māori people of New Zealand.
